Media Centers

The school provides a safe, healthy, challenging and appealing environment for your child to enjoy their years of learning.

ES/MS/HS Media Centers provide the highest level of information, technical and support services for its users. Teaching and learning activities are combined with information access skills.

We endeavor to stimulate reading, literature appreciation and to encourage independent reading choices. The focus of the NIS Media Center programme is for our students to achieve information literacy, which is the ability to access, evaluate and use information from a variety of sources. The formats of information resources are print, electronic, technological and modules. To support our main goal of lifelong learning, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Design Technology and Science (DTS) are being implemented as part of the media center. The ES ICT creates a learning climate in which students are productive risk-takers as they engage in projects that empower them to take ownership of their education. The ES Media and Information Center helps to enhance students' worldview, as it gives a new meaning to research and helps students gain worldly perspectives that are not always captured in textbooks.

Students learn to design websites and make visual presentations for science projects. We seek to provide a learning climate that promotes and develops critical thinking skills while using various software tools. Incorporating technology in the ES Media and Information Center gives students a sense of purpose for their positive approach towards their education. DTS introduces increasingly refined resources, including dedicated teaching surroundings with designing and manufacturing equipment.

As students progress through the ES, they may be given the opportunity to focus on specific facets of the subject such as product design, technology, engineering, systems and control, electronics, science, textiles, and graphics. We believe that this will enable our students to actively contribute to the creativity, culture, wealth and well-being of themselves, their community and their nation. We believe that our students will become resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable risk-takers.
