NIS DRAMA DEPARTMENT

The NIS Drama Department aims to offer a dynamic, challenging and comprehensive curriculum for MYP students within a productive and encouraging learning environment enabling MS students to gain confidence, develop their performance skills as well as advance their knowledge and understanding of the theater industry’s function.

Throughout creative process students are encouraged to produce dramatic work on their own and collaboratively, as well as to analyze, reflect and critique their own work and the work of others. Students are motivated to communicate their ideas and embrace the opinions of others. Students develop their critical and creative thinking skills, research and collaborating skills while they are also encouraged to represent the attributes of a caring, inquiring, risk-taking, communicating, knowledgeable, reflective, open-minded, principled, balanced, and thinking individual.

Throughout the academic year students have the opportunity to discover their talents and develop their skills as critics, writers, directors, performers, creators, designers, technical operators, stage hands, props makers, runners and costume managers.
